In notation software named Score Writer, to set the panning of an instrument is very simple. Go to the tracks window where all instruments are listed. One of the column of the list is Panning. Just key in directly the required panning. Zero stands for center. After keyed in the panning value( from negative 64 to positive 63 ) and saved it, listen back to the music played by that instrument and you suppose be able to get the difference.
